Kuwait records $28.9 Billion surplus

Kuwait posted a budget surplus of $28.9 billion in the first 11 months of the fiscal year 2009-2010, with revenues totaling $55.5 billion. Oil revenues contributed $52.5 Billion or 94.7% of total income. The state's spending during the 11 month period was $26.6 billion.

Zain - Bharti Airtel Deal


Zain sealed a $10.7 Billion deal with Bharti Airtel an Indian mobile operator to sell Zain's operations in 15 African countries (excluding Sudan & Morocco) with a total customer base of over 42 million.
Zain stated in a press release dated today "The transaction implies an equity value of US$9 billion and consideration will be fully satisfied in cash, of which US$8.3 billion will be paid upon closing and US$0.7 billion will be paid one year from closing. Bharti Airtel will assume US$1.7 billion of consolidated debt obligations. "
